The 5th Gil Evans Memorial Tournament was bowled at North City Tenpin in Porirua on Friday 16 November.
31 bowlers participated in this tournament, who came from Waitakere, New Plymouth, Kapiti, Lower Hutt and Porirua. Gil’s son, Gareth and daughter-in-law, Cynthia, played in the tournament and Sharyn, Gil’s widow, presented the Trophy to the winning bowler, Patricia Smith of Kapiti.
All proceeds from the Tournament, which totalled $430.00, have been donated to the Mary Potter Hospice, which is where Gil passed away from Lung Cancer in 2011.
