Tournament Rules
1 ENTRY
To enter, all participants must be financial members.
2 NO MULTIPLE ENTRIES
3 THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE PLAYED AS FOLLOWS:
MYSTERY PAIRS – Men’s and Ladies 3 standard games
(The Tournament Director will match/pair the bowlers prior to bowling this event).
SINGLES – 3 standard games
The committee has made the decision, there will now be:
Open Grade Scratch:
Ladies (150) Men’s (160)
Graded: (C) 100-119 (B) 120-139 (A) 140-L/Scratch, M/Scratch
A<B<C are all Handicapped
DOUBLES/MIXED: 3 standard games – Handicapped. Pick your own partner.
Where possible mixed genders. (Enter on registration form)
TEAMS OF FOUR: 3 standard games – Handicapped.
Where possible at least one male or female to make up the team. (Enter on registration form)
The Tournament Director reserves the right to mix members where all men and all ladies are nominated on the entry forms received.
The total number of games will be 12.
All games must be played to be eligible for the ALL EVENTS section of the tournament.
4 AVERAGES
Where a bowler has played in any Association tournament, no average is required, as this has been recorded from the last tournament.
Where a bowler has not played in any Association tournament: year to date average to be submitted.
Failure to submit a year to date average will render a minimum of 150 average.
5 HANDICAPPING.
Handicaps are assessed at 100% of 180 and will have a minimum AVERAGE of one hundred (100)
6 TIMES AND DATES:
Will be distributed to Centre delegates for those participating to be informed.
It is the individual member’s responsibility to check in at the centre at least half an hour (1/2) ahead
of the scheduled timetable.
Should the tournament run ahead of the scheduled timetable, it will continue without delay.
(Directors decision).
7 LANE DRAW
No changes will be made to the lane draw except in the case of illness or unforeseen circumstances.
8 IMPORTANT TO NOTE
If asked to bowl prior to their scheduled time table, in any event, the first score of each event will be
only score that qualifies for the ALL EVENTS
If a bowler has already played in the DOUBLES, MYSTERY PAIRS or TEAMS and is invited to bowl again in these event (s) to make up a partnership or team, their score will count towards prize giving.
9 DRESS CODE (Tidy Dress)
For the male: Polo Shirts, long trousers, dress shorts may be warn.
Neat, straight leg dark coloured track pants are acceptable.
For the female: Polo Shirts, long or ¾ length trousers or knee length skirts are to be worn.
Neat, straight leg dark coloured track pants are acceptable.
(Note: The Association’s uniform is White and Maroon with Maroon or dark trousers or dress shorts. )
League Polo Shirts are acceptable.
AREA DELEGATES HAVE DISCRETIONAL POWERS IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO DRESS CODE.
10 COACHING:
Coaching of members during play is not permitted. Officials and Lane Marshals are permitted within the playing area.
11 TOURNAMENT COST
The following fees must be included with the tournament entry form:
• Bowling fees $80.00 (includes prize fund)
• Meals Cost $30.00 (per head)
12 REFUNDS
Refunds will no longer be made after the commencement of any Association tournament. In the case of sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances, the Tournament Director has the discretion to authorise a refund. All such refunds must be submitted by the Centre delegate on a voucher held by the Secretary /Treasurer.
13 LATE ENTRIES:
• Late entries may incur extra fees and / or the return of your entry form.
• Please ensure your official entry form is sent prior to the close off date.
14 CHAMPION OF CHAMPION RULES:
Handicapped playoff
The Ladies ALL EVENTS HANDICAP winner will play the Ladies ALL EVENTS SCRATCH winner.
This will be one game, using the tournament average plus handicap.
The Men will use the same format.
15 COMPLAINTS:
Complaints must be submitted in writing, signed and delivered personally to the delegate of your centre within 1 hour of the alleged grievance, for further consideration. Verbal complaints will not be considered.
16 Disclaimer
Damage to, or loss of, any personal belongings or equipment is NOT the responsibility of the
55+Tenpin Bowling Association of NZ.
17 The Committee’s decision shall be final on all matters pertaining to Association tournaments.
